RECIPE Old Fashioned Apple Crisp
Ready in 1 hour
Serves 6 servings
Ingredients:
6 - Apples - peeled and chopped
2 - TBS. Granulated Sugar
1 3/4 - tsp. Cinnamon, divided
1 1/2 - tsp. Lemon Juice
1 - cup Brown Sugar
3/4 - cup Old Fashioned Oats
3/4 - cup flour
1/2 - cup cold butter, diced in cubes
pinch of salt
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350*
Butter (or spray) an 8x8 baking dish. Set aside.
In a mixing bowl, add chopped apples, granulated sugar, 3/4 tsp. of the cinnamon, and the lemon juice. Stir until well combined. Transfer to prepared baking dish.
In a separate bowl, add topping ingredients (brown sugar, oats, flour, 1-tsp. cinnamon, salt, and diced cold butter). Use a pastry cutter (two forks, or even your hands) to cut the butter into the mixture, using downward twisting motions. Until the mixture resembles pea-sized crumbs.
Spread topping over apples in baking dish, gently even out over the top.
Bake in preheated over for 40-45 minutes, until golden brown.
Serve warm and ENJOY!
Tip:
* Serve with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream!
